Yep I did it!!! Painted tile

I have been wanting to paint my half bath tile for so long and I finally did it. Call me crazy but I get an idea and I just have to try it. It turned out so good.
My tile in the bathroom wasn't horrible but it had a couple of stains in it I couldn't get out.

It was in great shape so I knew it would look great painted.
When we moved in this half bath was painted a bright orange so I painted it as soon as we were settled in. But hadn't finished it the way I wanted.
It wasn't as cute as this and I didn't get a picture of it but I know I wanted something else.

I bought several stencils and couldn't decide which on to use. I ended up using two different ones. I also couldn't decide which color so I painted a light gray and a charcoal. I ended up just going for it and painted it the dark charcoal color.
I used these furniture mover pads because they are really padded and saved my knees.

This is after one coat.  I ended up painting two coat and then stenciling and three coats of clear.

It turned out so great! This stencil reminds me of my oldest daughter Tera maybe that's why I chose it.
It's a small bathroom so I thought I could get away with such a bold floor.

When we moved in it had a wall mounted sink almost like this one but not that cute.  We found this sink base on clearance and put it in right away.  It was a little too formal for my taste so I knew I would paint it but hadn't had a chance yet.
I love painted furniture it really changes the look of the piece. Now it looks french country.
It had a round builders grade mirror on the wall that I wanted to replace and I found this cute one I got at Homegoods that is so cute and looks great with everything.
Jeff made me these floating shelves he hung up over the toilet to add a little more space.
I am so glad it is finished and so happy how it turned out. On to the next one.

BYE BYE Formal Living Room!!

Does anyone use your Formal Living room anymore? Well we never used ours except a few times a year and what a waist of space......So I wanted to turn it into a office. We have a designated office on the second floor but we turned it into a playroom/tv room for the kids. We wanted to be able to close it off so when Jeff works in it he can have some quiet. I wanted barn doors so I told Jeff the design I wanted and he went right to work. :)
Isn't it pretty. I love how it turned out. I stained it and then painted it with a white chalk paint. Sanded it and added two coats of clear coat. We ordered the hardware on Amazon and also the handle.
Here is what it looks like from the Family room looking in with the door opened.
Look at my cute Desk. Jeff made it out of a old piece of reclaimed wood. I love the chair I painted and it is so comfortable.  I had the old wood boxes that I used as shelves I just hung them upside down and they look like floating shelves. I have my sweet grand-baby's Calendar that Jeff made a frame for and I get to look at him everyday. I surround myself with pictures of my family that make me happy. I picked up other frame from the restore and used my cricket to cut some vinyl for a sign that reads "Happiness is Homemade." That is my motto this year. It's up to me to make my own happiness :) I don't really like curtains unless you need them because I love lots of sunlight in the house. So these wreaths were actually hanging in my living room and I just kept them.

In the corner is one of my favorite chairs that I painted several years ago and I still LOVE it!!
Here is Jeff's Desk. He has had it for a long time but it didn't have the bead board on it. We wanted to hide all the wires and didn't want to see underneath so we thought it was a good way to dress it up and hide everything.
This is the other wall that the other barn door is on. I love this old cabinet that I have had for so many years. I hides so much clutter and it is so cute also. You can see the file cabinet that I posted about a while ago that I painted and found at the restore for 25.00. Bargain!!
We love working in our new office and it gets used daily. A lot better use of space for this office than a formal Living room.
This is the other barn door you can see from our entry way.
I love my entry way because it is so roomy. My last one was so small and cramped. This one has plenty of room :)
I love this old bench I picked up years ago at an Antique store in Iowa. Tera drew the picture of the Saviors hand and I love it!!
I love this cute little space. It perfect for this old table I picked up when we lived in Arkansas so many years ago.
These are my front stairs (I have a back set too) and I really like having two. I still might paint them some day.  I have painted my last three houses stairs and I haven't decided if I want to tackle it or not.
View looking in from my kitchen area.
Well on to the next project and I am almost done.  I am updating my half bath. Okay just finishing it up from when we moved in. I had a few things done but wanted to complete it. Stay turned :)
